Florida Democratic Party Releases Path to Victory Memo in State Attorney Race

Tampa, FL — The Florida Democratic Party made public an internal memo as part of their municipal victory program plotting out a clear path for a win in the Hillsborough State Attorney’s contest.

Highlights include a breakdown of a large Democratic turnout advantage, Andrew Warren’s inspiring background, and incumbent Mark Ober’s lackluster track record.

“The Democratic voter advantage… resulted in Democratic candidates going 3 for 3 in contested countywide races in 2012.”  Roosevelt Holmes, Deputy Political Director writes.

In 2012, Bob Henriquez, Craig Latimer, and Kevin Beckner all won their countywide races by 10%, 12%, and 16% respectively.

Holmes adds, “The Florida Democratic Party intends to make this race a top priority in our Municipal Victory Program, a designation that will help to further boost Warren’s ability to raise money and organize on the ground.”

Warren has had a strong showing in his first two months of campaigning, raising over $80,000 during that time.  His opponent, vulnerable incumbent Mark Ober has only raised just over $20,000 during that same time frame.  The two will face off in November.
